Dear Friends of Wardour

We are reviewing the data that we hold to comply with the new General Data Protection Regulations, and the attached Privacy Policy describes what information we hold on you.  As Friends, we will post occasional newsletters to you; if you are still happy for us to contact you by email would you kindly send an email to info@wardourchapel.co.uk confirming this.

Whilst writing, we thought it useful to update you on how your money has been spent and let you know about intended projects over the next year or so.

In recent years:

1.       Cleaning of the altarpiece ‘Lamentation of Christ’ by Giuseppe Cades

2.       Improvement to access path and lower parking area.

3.       Renovation of the loos

4.       Repair & repainting of the segmental windows

5.       Repairs to the pews

6.       Replacement of the boiler

7.       Upgrading the burglar and fire alarms

Future projects:

  1. Plasterwork.  There is some cracking in the plasterwork, particularly in the dome above the altar.  We are to commission a survey to establish the extent of this deterioration.
  2. The repair of holy water stoups.
  3. Restoration of the mahogany doors between Sacristy and Chapel.
  4. Mending the reliquaries behind the altar.
  5. Fixing and upholstering choir loft balustrade.
  6. Upholstering altar and Sacristy furniture.
  7. Improving the sound system.
  8. Repair work to some of the ancient vestments.

We are grateful for your support without which none of these things would be possible.  If you know of anyone who would like to become a Friend of Wardour Chapel, please do encourage them.  The subscription is £8 per month or £95 per year.  Details and application form can be found on our website www.wardourchapel.co.uk
