The word is spreading - make a great living making vegetarian food at home!

Learn how to make the finest vegetarian cuisine and sell it at your nearest Farmers or food market. Last year I made a very healthy living, working from home, 3 days a week, doing what I love.

This is not a franchise, once you become a member of The Parsnipship, you are licensed to produce the food at your local Farmers Market. There are now approaching 800 food markets every week throughout the country, but be quick, to secure your choice of markets.

Learn the recipes with me, cooking from my home kitchen over two or three days, and then see how I sell the produce at one of my local markets. I have a professional kitchen that I can use for group demonstration, but I will have to charge a small fee to cover the rental of the kitchen - my home kitchen is very, very small (4mx2m!!).

Please bear in mind that although you don't need to be a professional chef, you do need to be able to cook and most importantly have a love of vegetarian food.

The intensive 2-3 day cookery course teaches you how to create 10 dishes (using a domestic oven!) that have proven to sell out every week for the last 2 years - you'll be surprised at how dedicated regular shoppers are to the ethos of the Farmers market, even in the foulest weather! The recipes I will teach you are adaptable to the change in the seasons so therefore sell all year round.

The Parsnipship encourages the sourcing of ingredients locally and preferably from other stall holders at the market. A vegetable patch and herb garden can really help with the overheads too!!

Individuality within The Parsnipship is actively encouraged, both with the new products YOU can create and in how your stall looks, under the definition of The Parsnipship logo.

I offer constant, dedicated support, including recipe updates, via e-mail and the telephone, to answer your every cookery and business question.

Membership Terms

An annual membership fee of only £275 which includes a contribution towards our Vegetarian Society Accreditation.

Plus you pay a small fee per market on a sliding scale depending on how many markets you do:

1 market per month - £25 per market
2 markets per month - £20 per market
3 markets per month - £17 per market
4 markets per month - £15 per market
5 or more markets per month £11 per market

Additional events - to be negotiated.

We are so confident with the business model that we will refund your first monthly fee if you take less than £250 on your first market!!! We even bill you monthly and retrospectively to help get you started: you'll work a whole month before your first invoice. We don't believe there's a business out there that will do the same. Our aim is to make you, the licensee, completely confident in our practice.

There is no charge for the produce you sell outside of markets/events. This is the biggest area for potential sales. Let's face it, the average vegetarian & vegan food sold at restaurants, pubs, hotels and the like, is shocking!!! I'm turning business away at the moment because I cannot meet the demand, and this is just in Cardiff!

Cheryl & Collette are now supplying award winning restaurant Junipers in Bristol.

You will need to buy some cooking equipment and a few bits and pieces for the market. You do not need a market stall, these are set up by the Farmers markets themselves and you pay a weekly rate to them (usually around £25). You will also need Public Liability Insurance (around £75 per year) and to have your basic food hygiene certificate, which you can do on-line for around £25.

Why is it so cheap?

Because The Parsnipship believes with numbers we can really make a difference. Franchises charges thousands, but The Parsnipship's philosophy means we can offer a very, very good living to all its members at a low cost. The average set up cost, including all equipment (and as a good cook you may well have most of this ) and the £275 membership is under £800!!

Working together, geographically as well intellectually, The Parsnipship can collectively cater on a huge scale ; it's the anti-industrial revolution!!! We've gone from a home based lifestyle to factory and back, everything is cyclical after all! By working together we will still never be able to meet the demand, The Parsnipship is that confident in its flavour!

Testimonials
"Seeing the relief and excessive saliva on the faces of frustrated vegetarians and vegans when they discover you at their market is worth every second of the hours of careful sourcing and preparation of the products. After a while it feels like you are cooking for old friends rather than customers and I know I see some of them more often than I see my own husband!!."

Karen Welford

"Joining the Parsnipship has been a great experience so far. Working for myself certainly beats the 9-5 and I love meeting like minded people enthusiastic about great tasting seasonal food."
