series of Music:Live@Lunchtime usually held in Carlisle Cathedral on Tuesdays in the spring and in the autumn have
temporarily ceased due to
noisy building work taking place nearby at The Fratry.

The Sands
Centre in the past has organised a series of orchestral concerts featuring British
and foreign orchestras. Unfortunately these have ceased due to withdrawal of grant support. However there is a supporting group called 'The Friends of
Classical Music at The Sands'
which is organising trips to the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester Details -

of Carlisle Orchestra is an amateur/ semi-professional symphony
orchestra. They perform three concerts a year. Click here for
