Does the vision of Julie Billiart offer a
Liberation Theology  in the face of  Globalisation?
St Julie Billiart Globalisation

From beginning of 2002, I was privileged to engage in a taught MA in Globalisation and Liberation Theology. This culminated last year (2006) in a dissertation in which I looked at St Julie Billiart and Globalisation. What I was trying to do was to explore the theological interface between traditional religious activity and political action in the context of globalisation
It was a blessing to be so near our accessible archive UK office and to have had wonderful experiences with SNDs and others round the world working for J&P.

This web site has been set up to try to share these blessings.
It is possible to access my full dissertation with notes and sources at

Bibliography
and web sites

A    Julie's story/experience
In the introduction to this dissertation, I said it would look at the experience of Julie in the world as it was for her. But there were too many words. In editing I did not want to loose those about Julie. So they are here.

B    Millennium Development Goals
For the 'unrosy' global picture, these pledges show where the hopes for people in our world are clearly not realised.

C    Report of the Notre Dame International J&P Meeting
Sisters from 5 continents looking together at the realities they face.

D    From Reuters re: Dorothy Stang. SND
No blinkered approach to promoting full life, Sr. Dorothy Stang who, after becoming a citizen of Brazil, was murdered for her work in Amazonia.

Ee   On the Supernatural Life
Julie describing a way, her way, of integrating a life of prayer and a life of action.

Ef   De la Vie Surnaturelle
When reading this I was struck by Julie's apparently minimal use of patriarchal language - even more apparent in the original French.
