The story of our springboard
Beccles Lido always used to have a springboard, even before the current
pool was built.
It
also had a 3 metre springboard and a 5 metre platform! But
sadly all disappeared many years before the pool finally closed in 2008. When we started work to re-open the pool as
Beccles Lido, our dream was always to at least restore the 1 metre springboard.
So
we were delighted when Molly Florides, Phoebe
Little, Jasmine Smith & Joel Florides
made a successful grant application to Suffolk County Council’s Youth Capital
Fund. Molly was delighted with their
diving board: “It’s fantastic to see so many of my friends having such
fun.”
The
springboard is yet another unique, restored feature of the Beccles Lido and has
been a huge success.”
