Totnes Museum Study Centre contains an extensive archive of local and family history resources for the Totnes region.

It is located in the Elizabethan garden at the rear of Totnes Museum.

Our volunteers deal with enquiries by post, telephone, email or personal visit.

We are also a service point for the Devon Record Office, with an archivist visiting during the open season.

Opening times:

   Wednesday: 10.30a.m. to 4 p.m. (Please check first by ringing 01803 863821)

   Thursday: 10.30a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Friday: 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

    Other times and group visits may be arranged by appointment.

A charge of £1.25 an hour is made to use the centre but Society members may use it free after paying £8 a year (£15 joint membership). We also do searches for people who cannot reach the centre, a charge of £5 an hour is made for this service.
